Jamia celebrated Good Deeds Day with slum kids on 7th April 2019
[Jamia Nagar, New Delhi]— A number of Jamia Millia Islamia students along with GIFTS NGO were gathered on Good Deeds Day to do good for the benefit of others and the planet, putting into practice the simple idea that every single person can do a good deed, be it large or small, improve the lives of others and positively impact the world.
GIFTS NGO organizes different fun and educational activities at the nearby slum of Jamia Millia Islamia and interacted with slum children. They organized lectures to inculcate the feeling of doing good among kids. Different games and best out of waste activities are also be done. To motivate kids prizes and refreshments were also distributed at the end.
Janab Irshad Ahmad, Former President AMU Old Boys Association New Delhi and Senior Advocate Supreme Court was the chief guest of the event and he marked the start of the occasion by displaying the Good Deeds Day Tshirts.
Good Deeds Day is a global movement that unites more than 100 countries around the world in doing good deeds. The representation of this global celebration from India has been taking care of GIFTS NGO.
Since 2007, millions of people and thousands of organizations and businesses worldwide have united together every year to do good and volunteer, putting into practice the simple idea that every person can do a good deed, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively impact the world.
Crossing all borders and cultures thousands of businesses and organizations from 100 countries, including MTV Global, ABC Network Studios NYC, NASDAQ, Pope Francis, and many more have taken part. For more information about Good Deeds.
GIFTS NGO is a non-profit student organization founded by students of AMU and JMI which continuously involved in doing good for the society in all possible means. Its main focus areas are education and health and they are organizing different activities from time to time for that. They are also running 3 months long education camp in the Noor Nagar slum area since 26th Jan 2019. Do join GIFTS NGO and be a part of social change maker.
